Gravity Vans operates under a BYOV (Bring Your Own Van) model, which lets you use the van you already own or purchase a van at a price that works for your budget. We upfit Promaster and Transit vans, offering standardized layouts with options to upgrade or customize with the finishes you want. Our package builds allow you to get on the road quicker than the competition and drive off with a van that has consistent quality, incredible durability, and a price that is hard to beat.
THE PROCESS
BYOV Semi-Custom Process
Bring us your van, select one of our primary layouts, and in just 6 weeks we will return it fully tricked out. Simple as that!
Initial Meet and Greet
We are excited to get to know you! Schedule a 30 minute conversation to discuss the layout you want, meet the team, and discuss the exact pricing and timeline of your project. We will walk through the Start Your Build page together and finalize any layout, component, and material questions you may have.
Reserve Your Spot
Once you’ve decided to move forward, a $2,000 deposit secures the next available slot on our calendar. Prior to your scheduled start we will confirm all layouts, upgrades, and accessories in addition to providing samples for chosen materials. Please note: deposits are fully refundable for the first 15 days after payment is received. After 15 days, the deposit is 50% refundable. The deposit becomes non-refundable 2 weeks prior to your start date.
Build Out
Let’s get started on your dream build! A semi-custom conversion only takes 6 weeks and begins with the drop off of your clean and empty van. At this stage, 50% of the build cost will be due, as well as a signed purchase agreement. Throughout the build process, you will receive weekly photo updates of your van as it moves towards completion.
Delivery
When your completion date is confirmed, we will schedule a pick up date. Upon delivery, you’ll get a detailed walk-through of your vehicle with a member of the production team. Please plan at least 2 hours for this process. Before taking your van home, the remaining balance of the project will need to be paid in full.
BYOV Full Custom Process
From napkin sketches to Pinterest boards, we will work with you to bring your ideas to life and deliver your dream rig.
Initial Meet and Greet
We are excited to get to know you! Schedule a 60 minute conversation to discuss your ideas, wants, and needs for your perfect build. Once we have identified the scope of the project we will provide a ballpark estimate and timeline to continue, both of which are highly variable. For reference, our typical custom builds finish in the $110k - $135k range (excluding the van), and take upwards of 10 months to complete.

Once you’ve decided to move forward, a $5,000 deposit secures the next available production slot on our calendar. Please note: deposits are fully refundable for the first 30 days after payment is received. After 30 days, the deposit is 50% refundable. After 60 days, the deposit is non-refundable.
Design Phase
Roughly 3 months before production starts you’ll be introduced to one of our Lead Designers. They will guide you through a series of design meetings to nail down a specific layout, components, materials, and finishes to fit your needs. In the final meeting we will provide a complete 3D model along with an itemized build sheet and total production costs. Final approvals of the design resources and 25% of the detailed estimate will be required before material sourcing can begin.
Build Out
Let’s get started on your dream build! A full custom conversion takes 10-14 weeks and begins with the drop off of your van. At this stage, 25% of the detailed estimate will be due, as well as a signed purchase agreement. Throughout the build process, our Production Manager will be in touch and periodically send photo updates as your van moves towards completion.
Delivery
When your completion date is confirmed, we will schedule a pick up date. We do not guarantee deadlines with these types of conversions as there are many moving parts and feedback loops to ensure that we get every detail correct.
Upon delivery, you’ll get an in depth walk-through of your vehicle with your Lead Designer. Please plan at least 2 hours for this process. Before taking your van home, the remaining balance of the project must be paid in full.
